When you brush and floss your teeth regularly and see us for regular cleanings, of course you are keeping your teeth healthy. But you’re also caring for the health of your gums.
If you develop infections in your gums, you may need periodontal care, which refers to dental procedures that correct infections in gums and other tissues supporting your teeth.
As soon as we see early signs of gum disease, we’ll advise you on how to improve your at-home care and we’ll help you eliminate the causes of this disease. If gum disease is more advanced, we usually recommend “scaling and root planing,” a dental treatment that cleans away tartar and irregularities below the gum line.
Please call us with any questions about gum disease or periodontics.

My dentist for 15 years...I was shocked when I realized I had not "reviewed" her and her staff. I look forward to my dental visits. No pain, nice people, all in house crowns, ex-rays, and the like. I highly recommend Dr Mansfield if you are looking for dental care.
